Alex Tarrant is a New Zealand actor. He is best known for his television work and films. He currently portrays Kai Holman in the action crime drama NCIS: Hawaiʻi (2021) and is filming The Lord of the Rings TV series. Tarrant grew up in Raglan, New Zealand and he has Māori, Samoan, and Niuean ancestors. He earned from Fraser High School in 2008.

Career

Alex Tarrant graduated from Toi Whakaari, New Zealand’s first-rank national drama school. He earned the Museum Art Hotel Scholarship for his final year in 2012. While at Toi Whakaari, Tarrant discovered dyslexia. He appeared in season four of SeaChange (TV program, 1998-2000) and played Maui in the British drama series Tatau (TV series, 2015).

He later appeared in When We Go to War in 2015, Filthy Rich (2016-2017), 800 Words (2015-2018), and The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith (2019). From 2018 to 2019, he played the hated Dr. Lincoln Kimiora on Shortland Street on 25 May 1992.

He played a rebel leader, Leo, in the 2021 film, Night Raiders. The film was also selected for the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival and it stars Elle-Maija Tailfeathers, Brooklyn Letexier-Hart, and Birva Pandya. It was also He has 19.5k followers on Instagram where he often shares his son’s pictures and videos.
