Owens’ death news was made public by her fellow author SM Shade when she announced on her Facebook account that Owens had passed away on Saturday 24th July.
She wrote: “To say I’m heartbroken and she will be missed just doesn’t suffice. CM is a large part of the reason I have the writing career I have today. She’s the reason I found my place in comedy and in this book world.”
