Reports from Star Tribune suggest that Katie Wright’s son, Daunte Wright, was pulled over for a traffic violation. Later, he was shot by a police officer when he was trying to get back in the car.
Despite being shot, Daunte tried to drive away but died on his way. Within a few hours, a crowd of nearly 100 came out into the street to protest against the police officers.

According to USA Today, Daunte Wright had a girlfriend who was with him during his death. However, her name has not been revealed.
