Her father, Terry Caffey was the only member of her family who made it out of the horrible incident. The traumatized father detailed his experience in his book “Terror by Night: The True Story of the Brutal Texas Murder That Destroyed a Family, Restored One Man’s Faith, and Shocked a Nation”.
Terry was shot at least 5 times. He somehow managed to escape out of the burning house after checking on his family.
This story was featured on the British TV documentary series “Killer Women with Piers Morgan“.
Erin Caffey Family and Boyfriend
Erin had 5 members in her family including herself.
Her mother Penny Caffey was 37 years old and her brothers Mathew and Tyler were 13 and 8 years old respectively at the time of their murder.
Penny was shot multiple times and stabbed in the neck almost decapitating her. Mathew was shot multiple times and Tyler was stabbed to death.
Emily planned the murder with her boyfriend of that time, Charlie Wilkinson, who was 19 years old at that time. He took help from Charles Allen Waid, 20, and Waid’s 18-year-old girlfriend, Bobbi Gale Johnson to execute the plan.

After slaughtering the entire family, they set the house on fire intending to erase the trace of the crime.
Erin and Wilkinson were dating only for 5 months. They committed the crime after Erin’s parents restricted her from meeting Wilkinson.
Where Is She Now?
Erin is serving her life imprisonment at Rains County, Texas, USA.
She was arrested on March 1, 2008, on the same day of the murder.
Erin was sentenced to 2 consecutive life sentences, plus 25 years imprisonment on January 2, 2009. She will not be eligible to come out of the prison under any circumstances until she serves roughly 40 years of her sentence.
