He Was Introduced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Bodhi Ransom Green was born on February 12, 2014 at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California, United States to Hollywood celebrities Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green. Despite the couple’s attempts at secrecy, the birth certificate of the baby was shared by news outlets shortly after his birth. Just a few months after Bodhi was born, in May 2014, his mother gave public the first glimpse of the baby during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. This was also the first time the actress had shared pictures of her older son Noah. Showing three pictures of her two kids with her husband at the time, she introduced them saying, “Bodhi is the little chubby one and then Noah is the one with the lips.”

His Name Is Inspired from Buddhism

BodhiRansom Green is a word in Pāli and Sanskrit languages that is generally translated as “enlightenment” in the Western world. The term is very significant in Buddhism in which attaining spiritual enlightenment is the ultimate goal. His mother, a highly spiritual woman, has been deeply inspired by the religion despite being a devout Christian. She mentioned during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2016 that she felt deeply connected to the term “Buddha” because it implies “enlightened”. In fact, much later in October 2021, Fox revealed that she called her new boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly “Buddha” during their interview for the “GQ Couples Quiz” in which the couple had featured. However, when it comes to the boy’s middle name “Ransom”, media outlets were totally clueless other than guessing that it rhymes with “handsome”.

His Parents Got Engaged and Filed for Divorce Twice

Bodhi Ransom Green’s parents first met on the set of their film Hope & Faith in 2004, when Megan Fox was only 18 and Brian Austin Green was 30. Even though the two did not share screen-time, they enjoyed spending time together on the set. However, Green was initially hesitant to take the relationship further because of their 12-year age gap. It was Fox who had convinced Green that she was mature for her age, “I had to convince him that I was slightly more responsible and well-spoken and had other things to bring to the table besides being 18.” The two got engaged in November 2006, but they “mutually” called off the engagement in February 2009. Over a year later, on June 1, 2010, it was reported that the couple was engaged again. They got married in a private ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort on Maui on June 24, 2010, attended only by Green’s son Kassius. Just like their engagement, their divorce also took two efforts. Fox first filed for divorce on August 21, 2015, days after the couple announced their separation. Nevertheless, they got back together by next year and even welcomed a third child later in 2016. Fox filed to dismiss her previous divorce appeal in April 2019. Unfortunately, the couple again announced their separation in May 2020 and Fox filed for divorce a second time in November that year. The divorce was finalized on October 15, 2021.

Bodhi Ransom Green’s parents value their privacy a lot, even going as far as getting into a lawsuit with the paparazzi, and try their best to keep the kids away from media spotlight. However, even her occasional Instagram post landed Fox into a controversy when she shared a Halloween picture in which Noah could be seen wearing a dress. It was not the only such instance, as both Noah and Bodhi have reportedly faced bullying for their dress choices and long hair. Fox has mentioned not forcing gender stereotypes on her children, while Green has mentioned that his kids like to keep long hair. Nevertheless, social media users often criticized Fox for making her boys dress like girls. Furthermore, after the couple divorced, Fox was constantly criticized for neglecting her kids whenever she appeared in the public, despite her mentioning that she leaves them with their father to shield them from media scrutiny.
