Bobby Schmurda is the stage name of the American rapper. His real name is Ackquille Jean Pollard. Schmurda was born in Miami, Florida, US on August 4, 1994. He is currently 26 years old. He rose to fame with his song “Hot Nigga” that reached the top 6 on The Billboard Hot 100 in 2014.
He is also famous because of his legal issues. He got arrested in 2014 by New York Police department during a raid on the studio quad recording in Manhattan. Bobby was just 20 years old at that time. While imprisoned also, he has written songs and has featured on his fellow rapper 6ix9ine’s single, “Stoopid”. This song was released in October 2018 in which the rapper has sung his version through the prison telephone.
Why Was Bobby Schmurda Convicted?
According to the police, Bobby was accused of being the ringleader of a street gang which was responsible for the murder, shootings, and drug trafficking. At the time of arrest, in 2014, the police concealed a duffle bag from Schmurda’s lap which was full of 21 handguns. So he was also charged with illegal weapon possession.
According to the rapper, he was coerced by his attorney to plead guilty, and hence he got seven years of imprisonment in 2016 hearing. However, he had already served two years waiting for the hearing, so with that credit, his sentence was reduced to 5 years.
Bobby is being held at Clinton Correctional Facility in upstate New York.

On 22nd July, there was this user who posted on Twitter with a link to that countdown on the website and captioned “Could we be seeing Bobby home in the next couple weeks?”. That countdown on Bobby’s website ended on August 4, 2020, so people made speculations that Schmurda would be released on that day.

However, turns out, that countdown was just a joke by his fans. They also gave an official statement that it was one hell of a ride and they did it as a joke as they are fans of Bobby. They also apologized for those who might have been pissed by that joke.
Bobby Shmurda Release Date: When Will He Come Out Of Prison?
According to the conviction he received, the earliest parole eligibility date for Bobby SchmurdaIt has long been known that Shmurda’s earliest parole eligibility date is December 11, 2020.
But many other New York State inmates have a parole hearing four months in advance. So, rapper Bobby is also eligible for parole in advance.
The official from the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) has said that he is scheduled to appear in front of the New York Board of Parole on August 17, 2020.
After that hearing, it is possible that he would get released soon based on the decision of the parole board.
