Jefferson and Adrianita are the two-time Salsa World Champions. They have been dancing together for well above 16 years and have participated in several professional level competitions.
Despite having gained several champion positions within so many years of dancing, they have now entered World of Dance for a next-level competition and to showcase their culture and dancing style in a larger platform.
Where Are They From?
The ballroom dancing pair Jefferson y Adrianita are all the way from Cali, Columbia. Their full names are Jefferson Benjumea and Adrianita Avila.

Jefferson and Adrianita are 22 and 26 years old respectively. This couple is not only a perfect pair for each other in their dance but also a real-life married couple.
They met each other for the first time when they were in their early teens while dancing for a same group. They were just friends at that time but slowly their friendship blossomed into a romantic relationship.
The couple also has a child together, a baby boy named “Derek”. He was named by his dad Jefferson after his idol, Derek Hughes, who is also the judge of World of Dance. Talk about their luck and chance to show their talents in front of their own idol as a Judge.

Jefferson y Adrianita’s dance style mainly specializes in Columbian Salsa. However, their dance consists of a mix of other multiple styles like Rumba, Samba, Cha-cha-cha, jive, Double step, and dancesport.
Their dancing style is focused on fast and electrifying clean footwork. Every time they hit the stage, the judges and everyone gets amazed by their jaw-dropping lifts and tricks. No wonder they got nominated for Emmy’s Prime Time Awards for best choreography because of their unique and energetic dancing style.

Their passion, discipline, and dancing techniques have helped them to reach this level in semi-finale and be renowned as one of the toughest competitors in the show.
