Kevin Sorbo is an outstanding American actor. He is best known for his starring roles in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (TV series, 1995), and Andromeda (TV series, 2000). He rises to fame for acting in the Christian drama films God’s Not Dead (2014) and Let There Be Light (2017).

Sorbo is of Norwegian origin. He grew up in a Lutheran family and studied at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He double-majored in marketing and advertising to help pay for tuition and worked as a model for print and television advertising.

In the mid-1980s, he traveled around Europe and Australia working in television commercials and also modeled for print advertisements. By the early 1990s, he had appeared in over 150 commercials, including Jim Beam bourbon whiskey. He sometimes landed acting roles during this period and made his acting debut in an episode of Santa Barbara in 1986.

Career

Kevin Sorbo appeared as a guest in television series including 1st & Ten (TV series, 1984), Murder She Wrote (1984), and The Commish (1991). In 2018, he appeared in the family drama called Bernie The Dolphin. Recently, he played Dr. Ben Riley in the 2021 family drama The Girl Who Believes in Miracles.

He made his film debut, playing a supporting role in Slaughter of the Innocents (1993). The first film to premiere was Hercules and the Amazon Women in 1994. The following films aired later in the year. He played the lead role of Nick Prescott in the 2007 action thriller film Walking Tall: The Payback.

One of the highest-rated syndicated television shows, the series made Sorbo an international star. Also, Kevin Sorbo also directed two episodes of the series during its run and co-wrote one episode. In 2019, he appeared in the action film The Reliant, where he played the role of Rick.
