- Her achievement has been taken very proudly by her father also. He used to play basketball for the Naval Academy. He posted on Twitter by saying that he is very proud of his daughter, Maddy, now that the news is official, and is happy that she continues to rise.
- She was one of the 400 graduates that were going in the training program. And even among them, she was one of only three women.
- The news that Swegle had completed the final stage of the Tactical Air(Strike) aviator training had been first released to the world by her best friend, Alissa Paige through Twitter on 7th July.
