In 2018, Meng Wanzhou was arrested for conspiring against the USA and Canada. 

According to the Canadian police, Meng was charged with plans to interfere with US sanctions for Iran. Following the next year, the US finally charged Wanzhou with fraud. Furthermore, Meng’s trial began on January 20, 2020.

In 2020, the department of justice officially accused Meng of her crimes. However, the court is yet to prove her crimes. Currently, her trial is still in the process. If found guilty, Wanzhou can face up to 10 years in prison.
