Kristin Smart Case On Wikipedia

The Disappearance of Kristin Smart has been one of the most mysterious cases over the last 25 years.

Kristin was a student of California Polytech State University. On May 25, 1996, when she passed out on the neighbor’s lawn, two fellow students Cheryl Anderson and Tim Davis helped her to walk her back to her dorm. Paul Forbes joined their group and offered to help.

Anderson and Davis departed the group after Flores said he could walk Smart back.

After the disappearance, on being investigated by the police Flores said that he allowed Smart to walk back to her Muir Hall dorm by herself.

Between 1996 and 2002, various searches were conducted but she was not found. In May 2002, Smart was legally presumed dead.

The police department did not stop the search until 2007.

On September 6, 2016, San Luis Obispo County Sherrif’s office announced the reopening of the case as they found a new lead. Cadaver dogs from the FBI were brought in for investigating the Cal Poly campus.

After three days of investigation, some items were found at all three dig sites located on the same hillside near Smart’s dorm.

On contacting the retired FBI who worked closely on the case, it was confirmed that 2 trucks owned by Flores were pieces of evidence. Flores’s resident was searched again and numerous “items of interest” were successfully found during the search.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson confirmed that Paul Flores was arrested today on no bail for murder charges and his father is being held on $250,000 bail.

Paul will probably face lifelong jail time.
