Happy Monday everyone! I thought I’d introduce myself again to my new IG friends! I’m Rachael (and that’s my 1 year old, August), the mama behind H+D. I’m an almost one woman show but I recently hired a part time seamstress to help me keep up a little better! Her name is Mily and we work together on each piece from my kitchen table in Los Angeles, CA. We like to listen to the Beatles while we work, unless there’s a lot of custom orders and math involved 😂 H+D was born from my love for creating, my passion for organic and non toxic alternatives for little ones, and my need to give back to my community and world in some way. Each piece spends time in my hands whether I do the cutting, the sewing, or often both, and what brings me the most joy while working is thinking about the future of this blanket or pillow or sheet. What dreams will be had while a sweet little bean is snuggled in their new bedding. What brings me the most satisfaction is knowing that the pieces I’m making are not only safe and healthy for the baby they’re wrapped around but also make as little impact on our earth as possible. Every detail of the bedding you receive from me has been carefully and meticulously thought through from the sizing to the materials to the stitching to the laundry detergent I pre-wash it in to make sure it’s what I would want for my own two babies.
