The Miss United States 2013 Candiace Dillard is a household name in America due to her history as a beauty pageant winner. In recent times, she has gotten even popular due to her appearances on the Real Housewives of Potomac.

Her husband also became famous because of her because of his presence in the reality TV show and their power couple status in America. 

Who Is Candiace Dillard’s Husband Chris Bassett?

The pair have been together for a long time and met when they were not famous. He works in the food industry. The pair met while they worked at the same restaurant. 

 

Their restaurant was located in Washington DC and they hit it off quite early. In fact, they say that they started getting fond of each other since the day they met. 

In 2020, he owns a part of a restaurant called Mixon’s Pitmaster BBQ in Alexandria, Virginia. As the name suggests, the restaurant Myron Mixon’s BBQ. 

While they started out in the restaurant service, Candice changed her career path and became a successful model while he stayed and became a top restaurant owner.

 

According to his bio on BravoTV, Bassett is a chef who wastes very little while cooking and manages to use even the most traditionally unusable parts of an ingredient. 

 

He is also a talented chef and cooked a delicious looking breakfast that fed almost the whole cast of RHOPC. In a lengthy article, the couple made frittatas, and as per his usual ‘don’t waste’ style, he used leftovers that included pork chop, onion, shallot, bell pepper, duck, egg, and cheese. 

 

Where Is Chris Bassett From? 

Chris was born in DC, Maryland, Virginia, and was raised by his father and step-mom. They were a working-class family and he had 2 brothers. 

They were always up to some mischief as per his own bio. His father experienced while cooking food for their family which led to Chris developing a keen interest in food from a young age. 

As a matter of fact, he credits his father for his ability to cook and his unique ability to taste all kinds of food.

 

He stayed with his father until he graduated, then his dad told him that he needed to get a job and pay rent or go in the army. He found both of these difficult and moved in with his mom in Florida. 

 

There he got a job at the South Seas Resort on Captiva Island. This was the start of his journey in the culinary world. He has worked for more than 25 years in the industry as of 2020. 

 

During that time, he has worked in some prestigious establishments such as the  Le Cordon Bleu in Miami. More recently he has worked as General Manager, Food and Beverage Director, and now, Owner, GM, and Beverage Director the BBQ joint he co-owns called Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster Barbeque in Alexandria.

 

In January 2020 he launched the CBasswithDill Catering which was a play on his wedding hashtag.

Chris was working up the ranks in a Washington DC restaurant when he met Candiace Dillard Bassett. This was all before 2013 when she became the Miss United States. 

They were friends at first and remained this way over several years before finally hitting it off as a romantic couple. 

Chris And Candiace Dillard Bassett got married in August of 2018. Before this, they joined Bravo TV’s The Real Housewives of Potomac as a couple in 2017. 

Their wedding ceremony was held in Andrew Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC. They have a child who is bi-racial but they are yet to reveal his name.
