His bandmates Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard announced his death. They declared that he died in his sleep at his home.

So far we’re known, ZZ Top had also announced that Hill would not play some upcoming shows due to a hip injury in earlier July.

Hill also made cameo acting appearances in the Back to the Future Part III film and HBO’s Deadwood, along with the animated television series King of the Hill.

The world has lost another musical jewel. He will be missed.

Dusty Hill was married to his wife, Charleen McCrory. The pair tied marital knots with his longtime partner at Tony’s Ballroom in Houston in the year 2002.

He is survived by his wife and his two children.
