

Colten Boushie was a resident of Cree Red Pheasant First Nation. He was shot dead by a farm owner in Saskatchewan, Gerald Stanley, in 2016.
Recently civilian watchdog had done some investigation on Colten case. They found out that RCMP (Royal Candian Mounted Police) had committed racial discrimination and were insensitive to Boushie’s mother.
They even found out that RCMP had mishandled witness and evidence related to the case. The police communication record from the night Colten died has also been missing.
Global and Mail investigation found that RCMP had destroyed that data.

On August 9, 2016, Boushie and his 4 friends went swimming. Their car got a flat tire and found a way to Stanley’s farm.
They all have been drinking. His friends try to start Gerald’s all-terrain vehicle. Gerald had a pistol with him.

Gerald Stanley and his son rushed towards the vehicle. They broke the windshield of the vehicle with the help of a hammer.

Boushie and his friend try to run but crash with another Stanley’s property and came to a stop. The farm owner shot 2 shots from the pistol as a warning shot.
Gerald approached the driver to sit where Boushie was as he tries to turn off the vehicle with one hand holding a pistol in another.
Stanley told police that his pistol accidentally went off. Belinda Jackson, who was in the back seat, claimed Gerald fired 2 shots.
Evidence shown in the lab showed Boushie was shot in the back of the head by one shot.
