Netflix has confirmed that ‘Lucifer’ is renewed for season 6 although it is said that fifth season would be its finale. However, they say that the 6th season is definitely the FINAL finale season.
The popular fantasy supernatural series based on DC comic, Lucifer is set to release the first half of its fifth season this week. The second part of the fifth season is also going to be released later this year but can be delayed even more because of the pandemic lockdown.
Nonetheless, after tons of rumors and anticipation amongst the fans, Netflix had finally announced on June 23, 2020, that there will be a season 6. So, we will not only be waiting for the second half of the series but another whole season too.
Here is everything we know about the upcoming seasons of this urban fantasy series by Tom Kapinos, Lucifer.
Who Is Playing Lucifer In Season 6?
For four seasons, this series has made us fall in love with the devilish character, Lucifer Morningstar played by Tom Ellis. So, no matter what, we cannot imagine anyone else being Lucifer apart from him.
But there was some issue with extending his contract with Warner Bros. This caused fans to wonder whether or not season 6 will return and even if it does return, then who will be playing the role of Lucifer?
Now that it is confirmed that season 6 of the show is renewed, all main cast are also coming back. This means, our favorite Tom Ellis will also be back.
Weirdly though, there was this rumor going around that Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder is going to replace Tom Ellis on Lucifer. Whoever started that rumor, it sure got huge attention but obviously the rumor got debunked because Tom Ellis already signed the deal and he is definitely coming back for Season 6.
I mean, even one of the costars of Lucifer laughed it off.
I’m mean … 😂😂😂

Although we love Ian Somerhalder too and people would love it if he would be a hot addition to the show. But truth be told, he can never be the devilish Lucifer that we have seen in Tom Ellis.
Okay, enough about season 6, lets first talk about the fifth season that is going to be released this week. Here is everything we know about Lucifer Season 5a.
