Ishaan Khattar is a Bollywood actor. He is best recognized for working in Hindi films. He made his debut as a child in the 2005 film Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!, as Ishaan.

Ishaan Khatter performed his first leading role in the drama Beyond the Clouds (2017) as Amir, a drug dealer. His performance won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. His first commercial success came with the romantic drama Dhadak (2018) alongside Janhvi Kapoor. In 2020, he has since starred in the British miniseries, A Suitable Boy and Khaali Peeli.

He is the half-brother of actor Shahid Kapoor, who is also the son of Neelima Azeem from her first marriage with actor Pankaj Kapur. Khattar describes himself as someone who is proud of his middle-class values. He explains he grew up in a household rich in culture, cinema, and the performing arts and that he worked towards establishing himself as an artist.

Ishaan Khattar studied at Jamnabai Narsee School and Billabong High International School, Juhu in Mumbai. He went to Shiamak Davar’s academy where he learned the dance. However, after making his first screen appearance as a child in 2005, he worked as an assistant director to Abhishek Chaubey on his 2016 film Udta Punjab and Danish Renzu in his 2017 independent film Half Widow (2017).

He is also the recipient of many accolades, including the International Bosphorous Film Festival for Best Actor on his work on the film Beyond the Clouds. He won the Best Male Debut thrice for his work on Dhadak and Beyond the Clouds in 2018 and 2019.
