Janet Yellen is an American economist. She has served as the chair of the federal reserve of the United States, president and chief executive of the federal reserve bank of San Fransisco. She also worked in the White House under President Bill Clinton as the chair of the council of economic advisors.
She is the first woman to be the chair of the federal reserve of the United States.
