“Tis The Season To Be Jolly Careful” memes are flooding all over the internet. Have you been wondering what it means? Tune in.
Political memes have become a thing recently on social media. With a lot of political memes on the Internet revolve on and around the former US president, Donald Trump, this time the UK prime minister, Boris Johnson has joined the party.
During a Downing Street media briefing, he stated that the three-tier system will be reintroduced. Besides, he said something in his speech that went viral on the internet as memes.
The Prime Minister said, “Tis The Season To Be Jolly. But Tis The Season To Be Jolly Careful.” By that Johnson meant to say that even though the festive season is approaching, people are mandated to keep the precautionary measures and follow the rules.

Here are a few memes the internet users have come up with as the result of the Prime Minister’s speech.
How Did The “Tis The Season To Be Jolly Careful” Meme Go Viral?
After Boris Johnson’s speech, users in Reddit, especially, started making a meme template of it. As is often the case in Reddit, memes go viral very fast. And especially, political memes have a different fanbase on social media. Hence, it wasn’t long since the Prime Minister’s photo was all over social media.
Many internet users on Twitter have reacted to Jhonson’s memes. Many people think that it is the funniest and the most cringe thing he ever said.

What Did Boris Johnson Mean By Tis The Season To Be Jolly Careful?
The UK Prime Minister discussed the new laws of lockdown during the press briefing. However, he opted to make his speech “a little jolly”, in his own words.
What he really meant was to take precautionary measures during the time of the festival. As Christmas is coming very near, the three-tier lockdown system will be introduced but there won’t be any hindrance in celebrating the festival unless it is within the margin of laws.
Lots of scientists: ‘right, we need to be really serious now. Vaccines are nearly ready, important to be clear with the public how the next steps will work’

Hence, he wanted to warn the families to enjoy Christmas by also keeping social distance and careful measures. However, his speech went a little wrong when internet users interpreted it quite differently.
Where Is The Quote From?
The quote “Tis The Season To Be Jolly Careful” seems to be a little familiar, doesn’t it? Because it is from the song, Deck The Walls by Carols. It was quite surprising that the prime minister used a reference from a Christmas song in his speech, one more reason for it to go viral.
Whatever be the outcome, Johnson tried to cheer people up by being a little funny. At these desperate times, you can’t blame him either.
Darlings, @BorisJohnson our Prime Minister uses anymore metaphors I shall scream! ‘Tis the season to be jolly -careful’, ‘the thundering hooves of the cavalry’, -ENOUGH! pic.twitter.com/kgpGyEzzdD

However, people on Twitter think otherwise. Many users have commented that it was the most ridiculous thing to be said by the prime minister of the United Kingdom.
As per the recent social media interactions, it looks like Boris Johnson has also become meme material on social media, which practically started with Donald Trump.
The reaction of people wasn’t due to what he said but how he said it. The Prime Minister used metaphors which for whatever reason, many people on social media didn’t like.
Despite everything, what he tried to say was right. Even during Christmas, one should maintain social distancing and take all the measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Also, the virus is much likely to outbreak easily during winter.
So just like Boris Johnson said, let’s try to jolly carefully this Christmas.
