Daunte Wright died during an arrest when the police said that he had an outstanding warrant during a traffic stop.

Daunte Wright was a Plymouth, Minneapolis man who died just 16 km away from George Floyd‘s death spot. There was a large involvement of protestors who were dismissed by the police after using tear gas.

Daunte was reportedly shot and had died after driving his car a few meters ahead. According to CNN, he was pulled over for a traffic violation, but that’s definitely not the right way to punish him.

When the Brooklyn police tried to arrest Daunte Wright, they determined that he had a strong warrant.

Even though the police asked him to stop, he continued running towards his car. Halfway to his car, Daunte got shot but was able to get into the car. He drove some meters ahead but eventually lost his life.

Before the incident, Daunte had called his mother, Katie Wright, who had even asked her son to put the police on the phone. However, the police officers forced him to put down his phone.

According to Wright’s parents, he was an innocent guy who was pulled over for just one particular reason – hanging air fresheners in his rearview mirror.

Katie continued to contact her son but was unsuccessful. After tons of attempts, Daunte’s girlfriend answered her call, informing her that he was shot. Sadly, he lost his life at the early age of 20.

After the incident, a huge crowd gathered and protested in support of Daunte. His family and neighbors remained at the spot until the very end to seek justice.

One of the police officers from the Brooklyn Center Police Department had shot Daunte Wright.

According to Sky Sports, the official statement regarding the police offer which actually shot Daunte is yet to be released. Further investigations are being conducted right now.
