Deborah Peoples is a Fort Worth mayor candidate.
Peoples represent Democratic Party in the elections. However, the mayor’s post is nonpartisan. The elections took place on Sunday, 1st May.
Deborah advances to a runoff election on June 5, 2021. She will face the Republican Party candidate, Mattie Parker. Mattie served as the chief staff for the outgoing mayor, Besty Price.
Interestingly, Peoples will be the first Black mayor of the city if she wins. She is ahead of Parker with 33% of the votes with Parker’s 31%. Both of them clearly beat out eight other candidates.
