Chinese journalist Liu Xin is best known for her work on the state-run news channel CGTN. She hosts The Point with Liu Xin on the network and has gathered a lot of fame for her critical analysis of world politics.
Xin also came into the limelight after she immensely criticized Fox’s host Trish Regan, after she covered the China-US trade war on the Fox Business Network.

As a matter of fact, CGTN is a group of multi-language channels owned and operated by CCTV (China Central Television).
To repeat, it is a state-run network and has been criticized for a reported lack of neutrality and a bias towards China and the state’s interests.

The reporter is a Chinese national and has Asian ethnicity. She was born on 10 November 1975 in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China. According to her portfolio on CGTN, she attended one of the most prestigious universities in China, Nanjing University.

Liu accused Regan of being emotional rather than factual, and also said that Fox news a biased towards the Trump organization. This led to a small feud between the two anchors and Xin was even called on the Fox Business Network to debate her on the topic.
The debate was especially popular on Chinese social media sites where it was shared more than a million times according to Newsweek.

The host and anchor majored in English in her university but is fluent in English and French. Similarly, she can also speak German and Turkish.
In addition to this, she is a native Mandarin speaker.

As far as we know, Xin doesn’t have an official Instagram account, partly due to the fact that the Government has banned the use of Instagram.

Similarly, Twitter is also blocked in China. However, like many multinational companies and celebrities from China, she does have a Twitter account that she uses with a government-approved VPN.
She joined Twitter in April 2009 and has amassed more than 234,000 followers on the platform. The reporter uses the platform to share news and her opinions on current events.
In fact, on July 22, 2020, she Tweeted out a statement by the Chinese embassy when the US administration asked the Chinese Consulate General in Houston to stop all operations immediately.
