The incident happened on May 6, 2021, early in the morning. Gneiting calmly disarmed the shooter, who happened to be a sixth-grade student.

Gneiting’s fearless act has been admired by so many on social media. Many even praised her valiance and sympathy.
Although she does not want any money or recognition from her heroic act, she mentioned it in her Facebook post.
