Michael Mcenany And Leanne Mcenany’s daughter Kayleigh McEnany is the White House Press Secretary for the Trump administration working in the post since April 2020.
She is the 4th person to serve as the press secretary in the Trump administration. Her hiring into the position was widely criticized by liberal political commentators but has been applauded by Republicans.
Kayleigh has also become the face of the Trump campaign’s PR because of her constant defense of the POTUS.
Kayleigh’s Parents: Michael Mcenany And Leanne Mcenany
Kayleigh was born to father Michael McEnany and mother Leanne McEnany on April 18, 1988. Her parents were among the financially gifted of the Tampa region.
As a matter of fact, her father owns the McEnany Roofing Inc. company. According to McEnany Roofing’s official website, they started the company back in 1985.
Their company was around 3 years before their daughter was born. The firm has handled large commercial jobs like the Central Florida Theme Parks & Resorts roofing and many small projects.
Due to her father’s company, the current Press Secretary had a rich upbringing and attended expensive schools.
Early Year’s Of Michael And Leanne’s Daughter
Kayleigh was raised in Tampa, Florida, where her father’s business operates out of. She went to the Academy of the Holy Names. Later, he graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
She studied international politics at the school and later went to St Edmund Hall, Oxford in England where she studied in-depth politics. The secretary went to the University of Miami School of Law and later transferred to Harvard law. She excelled in her class in both the institutions.
Kayleigh McEnany’s Married Life
The press secretary is married to Sean Gilmartin, who pitches for the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team. They tied the knot in November 2017.
She gave birth to her daughter almost 2 years later in November 2019.
McEnany Was Formerly A Trump Critic
During the initial days of his campaign, Kayleigh was an outspoken critic of the Trump campaign in 2016. She even went so far as to call him a racist because of his policy on Mexican immigrants and immigration as a whole.
In addition to this, she also said that it was unfit to call Trump a Republican. There was a huge concern that her hiring on April 7, 2020, was a move towards pro-Trump propaganda.
As a matter of fact, experts speculated that her defense of the POTUS and his actions are a veil over the citizen’s eyes.
Right from her hiring, she defended him for his comments on the Coronavirus and China. Likewise, she also defended his remarks when he said that the coronavirus could be cured if disinfectants were injected into the bloodstream of the victims, she said his words were taken out of context.
Similarly, she also came to his defense when he and his administration decided to forcibly remove the peaceful protestors when he had to go to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lafayette Square in Washington for a photo-op.
Kayleigh’s Career Before The White House
Due to her excellent scores and academic achievements, she was made a paid commentator on CNN’s show in 2016 where she initially criticized Trump.
She also worked as the producer of the Mike Huckabee Show. The political commentator left CNN on August 5, 2017.
Right after leaving CNN, she gave a 90 minute broadcast on Trump’s Facebook page. She has been a Republican since her college days and criticized former President Obama.
She also helped the Republican party propagate the rumor that President Barack Obama was born in Kenya even tweeting about his half-brother in Kenya.
