Sabrina Lloyd is an American retired film and television actress. She is best known for portraying in the science fiction series Sliders (1995–99), Sports Night (1998–00), and Father Hood (1993).
Career
Sabrina Lloyd grew up in Mount Dora, Florida. Her mother July Lloyd manages a title insurance company in Lake Mary. At age 12, she began her acting career in the role of Pepper in a Mount Dora musical production of Annie.
When she was in the 10th grade, she took part in a student exchange program that allowed her to spend a year in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. While there, she was a full-time student at Pine Rivers State High School. She earned from Lake Mary High School in 1989.
Returning to the United States, Lloyd continued to perform in a local theater such as the Baystreet Players in Eustis and the Ice House Theater in Mount Dora, appearing in productions of Grease (1971), Crimes of the Heart (1978), and The Wizard of Oz (1900). To pursue a successful film career, she moved to New York when she was 18.
Her earliest work there was in modern training films and TV commercials, including one for Eastpak backpacks. She appeared guest on an episode “Intolerance” of Law & Order called (1992). She signed with a new talent agent and started receiving more roles in television and film.
Her first important role in feature films was in Chain of Desire (1992). In 1993, she appeared in the music video of The Breeders’ song Iris. She also made appearances on television, starring in the TV movies The Coming Out of Heidi Leiter, an episode of HBO’s Lifestories: Families in Crisis (1992).
In 1997, the Sci-Fi Channel picked up the show, but Lloyd’s contract was not reopened.
