Donovan Mitchell, the American NBA player for Utah Jazz has possibly parted ways with his long term girlfriend Déja Lighty.
The NBA stars are reputed to be dating beautiful and successful women, and Donovan Mitchell is not any different. He is dating an attractive girl Deja Lighty.
Donovan, 23, was born and raised in New York to parents Nicole and Donovan Sr. On the other hand, Deja was born on 12 December 1995 in New Jersey to parents Chris Lighty and Veronica. Her father Chris Lighty was a Hip-Hop mogul who managed stars like Diddy, 50 Cent, Ja Rule, and Mariah Carey.

As prior mentioned, Donovan is a popular American professional basketball player. He plays for Utah Jazz of NBA as a shooting guard. He was in the NBA All-stars team in 2020 but in March 2020, he was tested positive for COVID-19 and NBA season for the year was suspended.
He also played spectacularly in NBA All-rookie first team in 2018. That year, he also won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Mitchell has also appeared on the SLAM Magazine cover. Besides, he has also starred in a docuseries called Rookie on the Rise in 2018. He had completed his education from Louisville college in 2017.
On the other hand, Deja Lighty was also involved in sports from an early age. She was the team manager for boy’s basketball at her high school. Lighty was also a cheerleading captain at Montclair Kimberley Academy. She grew up in the Bronx. Deja also served as a Basketball recruiter at Temple University. She currently works at Cleveland Cavaliers as an account executive for organizational business development.
When did they start dating each other?
It is not clear when the two of them started dating each other. When Donovan started gaining public attention, he was always seen with Deja Lighty since then. It must be their high school love, but they did not attend the same school or college. One thing they have in common is that they both are in the basketball career.
Deja has always supported Donovan, and during the All-Stars game in 2018, she tweeted saying “Oh hello beautiful, sunny LA”. They were together even before that but that’s when they decided going public.
Are they in a long-distance relationship?
According to Lighty’s Linked in profile, she is currently working at Cleveland Cavaliers which means she is residing in Cleveland, Ohio. Meanwhile, Donovan is living in Salt Lake City, Utah as he is playing for the Utah Jazz. So they were in a long-distance relationship.
Back in January 2018, in one of her tweets, Deja had mentioned how hard it was for them to meet as Donovan had to leave SLC to come to Cleveland. Recently, those posts have been deleted.
Are Deja and Donovan still together?
According to some sources, the couple broke up in September 2019. Some people also claim that they saw Donovan together with some other girl. These two have also deleted all the posts about each other from their social media accounts. Once, their Instagram used to be filled with this lovely couple’s photos and now there is not even a single post that claims their relationship.
Moreover, in March 2020, when Donovan was diagnosed to be infected of COVID-19 and his girlfriend did not show any concern on social media. All these things lead us to believe that probably the rumors are true. They must have parted ways already.
