Ryan Mackey is a football player made famous by his appearance ‘Last Chance U’, a Netflix program that shows the struggles of university football players.
The how has been highly praised for showing the pain of the students who have to make it or break it for the last chance to secure their place in the footballing world. The docuseries portrays the life of aspiring college students.

He has a height of 6 feet 3 inches (190 cm) and has an athletic build with many have described a perfect match for his passion. According to the show, he is also incredibly passionate about football and has dedicated a huge chunk of his life to the game.
He graduated from Rio Vista High School and was a decent player even in high school. While at school he, threw 1,623 yards with a 15.0 average in his senior year and that his quarterback rate was 94.0.

Already A Talent In High School
Ryan was already touted to become a huge star when he was in high school but he did not go to one of the top colleges for football but had to go to Laney.
He played well there too but many critics and analysts have said that he would’ve flourished at a bigger school. His first season at the uni did not go as well as expected.

Mackey had a lot of potentials and even became one of the stars on the 5th season of the ‘Last Chance U’. Laney University is the final destination of the show as it was the final season of the show.

The show premiered on Netflix on July 28, 2020, almost exactly 4 years after the first season was launched on July 29, 2016. The series is part drama and part documentary which tries to help all the people and especially the students that star on it by giving them a platform.
Last Chance U’s Format
The series is basically part-scripted and part-real, it goes to colleges where the crew film the life of the football players on and off the pitch. It was originally released in 2016.
It followed the football program at East Mississippi Community College and gave in-depth detail on the lives of its players. Courteney Cox will be starring in a scripted drama version of the first and second season of the show.
The fifth season takes place at Laney, all the cast and crew were pushing for a college closer to LA as they wanted to work on other projects simultaneously but they were rejected by two colleges before finally, Lany accepted them.
Other players apart from Ryan on the show included Dior Walker-Scott #, a Wide Receiver, and QB: Went to Deer Valley HS in Antioch, California, USA.
He lived out of his car and is a solid Wide receiver, at Quarter Back he was alright when filling in for starter Ryan Mackey while he was injured. He has another year of eligibility left, however, there is no fall football season due to COVID-19.
Nu’u Taugavau #66- Offensive lineman: Went to Hayward High School in Hayward California. He is good on the line, he worked hard on the field and in the training room while taking care of his family.
The one obstacle that he had to overcome is his academics, in the trailer, he is the guy who Coach John Beam is yelling at telling him that he’s failing school. He does receive offers and chooses Murray State in Kentucky.
