Idriss Deby followed the Islamic religion.

He died on April 20, 2021, when he was commanding his Chadian army against rebels. Reportedly, he was killed by the members of the FACT. The reason behind his killing is yet to be figured out. Even before this, he was attacked by the same group multiple times.
