Salwa Eid Naser is a 22 years old Nigerian- born Bahraini sprinter. Salwa specializes in the 400 meters. She became popular for being the first Asian woman to win the event at the World Championships by winning the 2019 World Champion. In this event, she did her personal best of 48.14 seconds which placed her in third place on the 400 meters all-time-top list behind Marita Koch (47.60) and Jarmila Kratochvílová (47.99).

Bahrain is an Islamic country and people can have conservative mindsets there but Salwa Eid Naser surprised everybody at the Youth Olympic Games 2014 when she claimed the silver medal while wearing a hijab and a full bodysuit.
