After more than three months on the run in Eastern Europe, the fugitive couple in a double shooting at Stoney Creek has been captured in Budapest, Hungary.
Karafa and Li fled to Eastern Europe within 24 hours of the incident.
Furthermore, investigators in Hamilton and abroad worked together over the past three months resulting in the arrest of Karafa and Li in Budapest, Hungary, where they are currently being held in custody.
The formal process to extradite the accused to Canada is underway.

There are two suspected wanted in connection with the Stoney Creek homicide.

According to Hamilton police, Oliver Karafe and (Lucy) Lu Li, who is just 25 years were the suspects in the homicide on February 28.
They left Canada the following the shooting and were recently arrested in Hungary.
As of June 14, Li and Karafa are being held in authority in Hungary, and the removal interaction is in progress, Hamilton Police say.
Similarly, Li also comes from a prominent and wealthy family.
Li and Karafa had been friends in high school in Toronto.
